Ford Australia's manufacturing, engineering and design story began in 1925 when a disused wool store in Geelong was established as a temporary assembly plant. Shortly after Ford factories were established in all states across the country.
While the Model T changed the world, Ford Australia developed vehicles that became central to Australian motoring folklore and integral to daily life, from the practicality of Lew Bandit's 1934 ute to the muscle of the mighty Falcon GT-HO Phase III.
Ingenuity, creativity and innovation led to a manufacturing legacy spanning 91 years that has made Ford into an Australian manufacturing leader, carrying on the spirit and heritage of those who built Ford Australia into a cultural icon. To commemorate this legacy, the Royal Australian Mint has teamed with Ford Australia to produce this limited run collector's 12 coin set.
