THE ROYAL AUSTRALIAN MINT.
The Royal Australian Mint is situated in Deakin, Canberra and was first established by the Commonwealth of Australia in 1965.
The Mint is one of Canberra's most popular tourist attractions with an extensive visitor complex open seven days a week where you can see coins being minted and an extensive display of Australian coins and informative films.
Coins and collectables can also be purchased at the Mint shop. Proof coins reflect the ultimate in Mint craftsmanship and offer the best investment potential to collectors.
The proof coins in this set are struck from hand-polished dies, using blanks with a smooth, bright surface. The resultant coin is a masterpiece of flawless beauty with the flat surface of the coin having a mirror-like finish and the raised surface, or design delicately frosted. Once minting is complete all dies are destroyed.
